Why Did Rome Fall—And Why Does It Matter Now?

I understand that many of you will not read the article linked below and that’s okay, it is just something that is very interesting to me. I recently have been thinking a lot about the similarities between the United States and The Great Roman Empire. In history we learn that there is most certainly a correlation to ancient and modern day issues. In this article you will not only see similarities between the United States and Rome but also a better understanding of why Rome fell.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

This week (Tuesday) I had a couple of meetings to attend, while sitting with me in these meetings Lily started doodling on some paper. I did not see what she was writing/drawing until last night while getting ready for bed. I opened up my folder from my meetings to review some paperwork and noticed Lily’s doodling paper tucked in my folder. There are so many things to be learned from this simple paper that she came up with all by herself. Most importantly how much love can be felt within the family unit. It doesn’t matter how many miles separate family members, when there is love within the family bond, it is always felt.

It saddens me to think of this most important organization of, The Family and how it is deteriorating in the world in which we live. There are so many people that don’t get the opportunity of feeling a sense of love and security in there own families. We really are so blessed.

Lily, I couldn’t agree more with what you wrote because, “I LOVE LILY” and “I LOVE DADDY!”

Happy Easter

Honey, these are for you. You asked me to take pictures of EVERYONE, so here they are. Happy Easter!! After being gone for over a year and missing two Easter's we will definitely have to make it up next year. We had lots of fun, but not the same without you.

Saturday we enjoyed the company of our good friends and parents/grandparents. We ate way too much good food and decorated Easter eggs.

Sunday, after enjoying morning conference we celebrated with lots of family at Grandma and Grandpa's. We had so much fun visiting with family. The kids enjoyed playing together and of course the annual Easter egg hunts. They even took turns of playing Easter bunny and hiding eggs. Thank you to everyone for making this Easter day special, especially to our Savior Jesus Christ.

They are so proud of their decorations, yum...still
eating carrot cake.
